Chris currently works at Lares, prior to that he’s founded or worked with a number of companies specializing in DarkNet research, intelligence gathering, cryptography, deception technologies, and providers of security services and threat intelligence. Since the late 90’s Chris has been deeply involved with security R&D, consulting, and advisory services in his quest to protect and defend businesses and individuals against cyber attack. Prior to that he jumped out of planes for a living, visiting all sorts of interesting countries and cultures while doing his best to avoid getting shot at too often. (Before that he managed to get various computers confiscated by a number of European entities.)

Over the past 31 years, I’ve held roles from technical to leadership in cyber and information technology and helped others find their path in cyber careers. I’ve worked across markets, mostly defense contracting/government/military and some commercial.

Ming is a senior lecturer at the Tufts University Department of Computer Science. Ming has spoken at numerous organizations and conferences. He was awarded the 2017 Lerman-Neubauer Prize for Outstanding Teaching and Advising at Tufts, awarded annually to a faculty member who has had a profound intellectual impact on their students, both inside and outside the classroom.

US Army veteran with 20 years of specialized experience in securing, auditing, and breaking stuff all over the world. Get most of my kicks these days out of leading and mentoring groups of highly skilled folks in professional and academic environments. Passionate about technology, security, people, and bbq.

27.5 year Navy career (Radioman/Information Systems Technician) then a consultant on DoD Information Assurance/Cybersecurity (IA/CS) efforts at Booz Allen (6.5 years) and currently Athena Consulting Group (ACG) (11.5 years). For past 18 years, involved in the hiring process (reviewing resumes/interviewing) for positions within DoD IA/CS efforts. Currently serving as Director Cybersecurity for ACG team working on SPAWAR efforts in support of the Defense Health Agency.
