Proving Ground Participant Roles & Responsibility

Speakers, we want to ensure that understand your responsibilities and what you can expect of your mentors.

Conversely, Mentors should know what to expect of their speakers and a refresher of the sign up sheet.

Speaker Responsibilities:

  • Work with your mentor for the delivery of your talk
  • Work with your mentor to complete dry-runs
  • Participant in the BSidesLV “Check-in” (from time to time we will ask for your feedback on the process)
  • Escalate issues with your mentor to the Proving Grounds Directors (e.g. your mentor is unavailable, non-responsive, etc.)
  • Participate in regular Proving Ground Director Check-ins (as necessary)
  • Delivery a 25 min (including Q&A) talk at BSidesLV 2016
  • Escalate issues as outlined ‘Conflict Resolution Acknowledgement

 

Mentor Responsibilities:

  • Work with your speaker for the delivery of your speaker’s talk (30-60 mins per week)
  • Participant in the BSidesLV “Check-in” (from time to time we will ask for your feedback on the process)
  • Escalate issues with your speaker to the Proving Grounds Directors (e.g. speaker content varies significantly, non-responsive, etc.)
  • Participate in regular Proving Ground Director Check-ins (as necessary)
  • Attend your speakers 25 min talk at BSidesLV 2016
  • Escalate issues as outlined ‘Conflict Resolution Acknowledgement
